Clinic appointment access and fairness
Practise making a fair decision when access is limited. Review whether you identify missing information, weigh both patients' needs, and explain the next step clearly; then record the scenario again with one improvement.

Admission requirements
Albany requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, the ability to meet its technical standards, and at least three years of college work: 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours at an accredited college or university. Applicants must submit an MCAT score and recommendations through the AMCAS letter service. Albany eligibility requirements
Required coursework comprises two semesters each of biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics with related laboratory experience. The organic chemistry requirement may instead be met by one semester of organic chemistry and one semester of biochemistry taken through a chemistry department, with the related laboratory work. Albany also encourages competency in statistics or math, intensive writing, and behavioral and social sciences. Albany premedical coursework
Albany says prerequisite coursework must be taken in person and cannot use satisfactory/unsatisfactory grading. It accepts online prerequisite courses taken between spring 2020 and spring 2021, while its page states that pass/fail prerequisite courses are not accepted. Applicants with unusual course formats should obtain guidance from the admissions office rather than assume equivalence. Albany coursework policy
For August 2027 enrollment, the oldest accepted MCAT is from January 2023 and the latest score considered must come from a test taken before September 30, 2026. Albany accepts either a premedical committee letter, a college letter packet, or three to four individual recommendations when no committee service exists; the maximum number of individual letters is four. Important dates
For fall 2027 entry, AMCAS applications are due November 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Applicants who submit by that date and later become verified receive Albany's supplemental application, which is due December 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The latest MCAT Albany can consider must be taken before September 30, 2026. Albany application requirements
Albany's current timeline says AMCAS opens in May, the school begins importing applications in July, sends supplemental applications and reviews completed files beginning in August, and starts interview invitations and interviews in September. Rolling decisions begin October 15. Interview invitations and decisions continue from January through March; the interview season ends in April, decisions may continue from May through July, and the incoming class matriculates in August 2027. Albany admissions timeline
The official page does not attach a year to every monthly milestone. This page uses them only within Albany's explicitly named August 2027 enrollment cycle. Applicants should monitor their portal and invitation because their exact interview date and decision timing are individualized.
How selection works
Albany describes a holistic review that considers academic achievement in the context of life experiences and circumstances, demonstration of premedical competencies, personal characteristics, and recommendations. It also values service, meaningful clinical experience, leadership, research, and paid work while reviewing activities in the context of an applicant's responsibilities. Albany admissions philosophy and considerations
After the primary and supplemental materials are complete, the Admissions Committee screens the file for an interview or no-interview outcome. Interviewed applicants are generally reviewed by the committee within four to six weeks and may receive an immediate acceptance, alternate-list placement, or rejection. Albany uses rolling admission and fills seats from a ranked alternate list. Albany application process
Albany does not publish numerical weights for GPA, MCAT, experiences, recommendations, the supplemental application, or the interview. Its recent-class averages are descriptive and are not eligibility cutoffs or predictions of an interview or offer.
Interview details
Confirmed
Albany uses an invitation-only virtual Multiple Mini Interview. Applicants critically assess and discuss a variety of topics during an approximately two-hour process made up of short virtual one-on-one interviews. Interviews begin in August and end in April; invited applicants receive available dates by email. Albany interview format
An interview may be rescheduled once when the request is made at least one week before the original date. The applicant portal controls withdrawal and cancellation. Albany interview instructions
Not published
Albany's current page does not publish the number of MMI stations, individual station length, preparation time, video platform, exact topic categories, interviewer rubric, scoring method, or interview weight. Use the invitation for cycle-specific logistics rather than deriving them from the approximately two-hour total.
Who this program may suit
Albany may suit applicants who want a four-year MD program in a medical-college and health-system setting with early community exposure. First-year students participate in an Introductory Longitudinal Clerkship, and the curriculum includes service learning, ethics, advocacy, climate health, nutrition, and care of patients with disabilities. Second-year students complete an intensive two-week Clinical Bridge Block using simulation before clerkships. Albany MD program
Key practical considerations are the U.S. citizenship or permanent-residency rule, in-person laboratory-science requirements, rolling admissions timeline, and virtual MMI. These are application and learning-environment considerations, not evidence that one applicant profile will receive an offer.
Practice and next step
Start with the featured clinic-access scenario. Record one spoken response that identifies the missing clinical and access information, considers both patients, proposes a consistent decision process, and explains the outcome respectfully.
Review the recording for one observable weakness: perhaps you made a character judgment from missed appointments, did not compare urgency, or left the decision rule vague. Record the same response again with one deliberate adjustment and compare the two attempts. Continue through the structured-interview path to practise ethical reasoning, teamwork, using feedback, and explaining motivation. Because Albany has not published station-level timing or its rubric, use the invitation before simulating exact interview logistics.

Structured Interview Essentials
Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
