Admission requirements

The published science set covers 37 semester hours across biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, biochemistry and two approved science electives. Applicants may have no more than three science prerequisites outstanding when they apply, and all prerequisites must be completed by June 15 before Fall 2027 entry. Applicants who will not hold a four-year degree by that date must also complete Auburn's listed core requirements. Auburn prerequisite courses
Minimum cumulative GPA is 3.0 for Alabama and Kentucky residents and 3.4 for at-large applicants. A complete application uses VMCAS, transcripts from every college awarding credit, three recommendations and Auburn's processing fee. One recommendation must come from a licensed practising veterinarian; the other two should come from an employer, professor or adviser familiar with the applicant. Auburn does not use the GRE. The college says it does not admit international applicants or transfers from another veterinary college. Auburn application requirements Auburn residency policy

How selection works
Auburn describes a three-part admissions process: objective review of academic credentials, subjective review of personal credentials and animal or veterinary work experience, and a personal interview. Academic review includes overall, science and most-recent-60-credit trend GPAs. Qualified applicants are then invited to interview. Auburn evaluation process
The college publishes 41 priority seats for Alabama residents, 38 Kentucky contract seats and 51 at-large seats. It does not publish numerical weights for academic review, experience, recommendations or the interview; nor does it publish committee voting, decision categories or wait-list ordering. Who this program may suit
Auburn may suit applicants prepared for a four-year, broad-based DVM curriculum that uses a systems approach and combines classroom, laboratory, case-based and clinical learning. The programme requires substantial veterinary exposure before application, so applicants should be ready to explain what they learned across at least 500 clinical hours rather than only listing activities. Residency materially affects the applicant pool: Auburn allocates 41 seats to Alabama residents, 38 through its Kentucky contract and 51 to at-large applicants. International and transfer applicants are not admitted. Auburn's current programme page says the college is AVMA Council on Education accredited and that its next site visit is scheduled for 2026; applicants can review the current status directly before committing. Practice and next step
Record a response about feedback from a veterinarian, supervisor or teammate that changed how you approached animal care, communication or responsibility. Review whether you state the feedback clearly, explain the specific adjustment you made and give evidence that the change improved your work. Then record a second attempt with the main point earlier, less repetition and a clearer link to your professional growth.
