Clinic appointment access and fairness
Practise making a fair decision when access is limited. Review whether you identify missing information, weigh both patients' needs, and explain the next step clearly; then record the scenario again with one improvement.

Admission requirements
Brody limits consideration to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are either legal North Carolina residents or earned a bachelor's degree from a UNC System institution within the previous five years. North Carolina residents must complete the state's residency determination process. Brody residency eligibility
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. or Canadian institution is required and must be complete by June 30 of the matriculation year. Required coursework, also due by June 30, comprises eight hours of biology with two separate labs, four hours of organic chemistry with lab, eight hours of physics with two separate labs, three hours of biochemistry, three hours of statistics or biostatistics, six hours of English, and three hours of social sciences or humanities. Each prerequisite requires a C or higher. Brody academic requirements
Core biology, chemistry, and biochemistry preparation must be current within five years of graduation; upper-level or graduate science may refresh older work. Advanced-placement and online courses do not satisfy prerequisites, although the admissions office invites applicants with extenuating circumstances around online work to contact it. Brody coursework policy
The minimum screen is an MCAT of 500 and an undergraduate science GPA of 3.0. For fall 2027 entry, the oldest accepted MCAT is from 2023, the latest considered test is August 22, 2026, and 2027 scores are not considered. All scores are visible; the committee evaluates the most recent while considering the full history. Brody 2027 MCAT dates Brody MCAT FAQ
Letters are either three individual evaluations—two from patient-facing clinical experiences and one professional or academic reference—or one premedical committee letter plus one clinical-experience letter. Brody requires patient-facing experience and expects volunteer experience, while research is encouraged but not required. Brody letters Brody experience FAQ

How selection works
Brody first verifies residency eligibility, the minimum science GPA and MCAT, and other minimum requirements. Applicants who pass that screen may receive the Gateway Activities, including the supplemental application. A complete file is checked for prerequisites and letters, then reviewed by the admissions committee for an interview, later review, or rejection. Brody admissions update
After interview, the Admissions Committee recommends immediate acceptance, hold, or non-acceptance to the Admissions Selection Committee. Decisions are rolling; waitlisted applicants may receive later decisions as seats open. Brody does not accept updates, letters of intent, new experience hours, unsolicited letters, or new transcripts unless the admissions office requests information. Brody admissions update
Brody's mission is to increase the supply of primary-care physicians serving North Carolina, improve regional health and well-being, and train physicians for the state's healthcare needs. Its published experience expectations include patient-facing exposure, meaningful volunteering, and well-rounded activity. Brody mission Brody experience FAQ
The current official pages do not publish numerical weights for GPA, MCAT, prerequisites, experiences, letters, the supplemental application, or interview performance, nor a final selection formula.
Interview details
Confirmed
Brody's fall 2027 interviews are invitation-only and virtual. The official FAQ says two members of the admissions committee conduct the interview, and the cycle timeline places interviews from September 2026 through March 2027. Brody interview FAQ Brody timeline
After the interview, the Admissions Committee considers the applicant and recommends acceptance, hold, or non-acceptance to the Admissions Selection Committee. Brody admissions update
Not published
The current official sources do not publish whether the two committee members meet the applicant together or separately, the interview length, preparation time, exact question categories, interviewer file access, degree of standardization, scoring rubric, interview weight, or final score-combination formula. Use the invitation for exact fall 2027 logistics.
Who this program may suit
Brody may suit eligible applicants whose goals connect to primary care, the health of North Carolina communities, and service within an academic medical centre in Greenville. The school's mission explicitly focuses on increasing the state's primary-care physician supply, improving regional health, and meeting North Carolina healthcare needs. Brody mission
Key practical fit constraints are the narrow residency or UNC System degree pathway, U.S. citizenship or permanent-residency requirement, minimum academic screen, recent in-person prerequisite expectations, patient-facing experience, volunteer activity, and a virtual two-member interview. These are eligibility and mission considerations, not predictions of an interview or offer.
Practice and next step
Start with the featured clinic-access scenario. Record one spoken response that identifies missing clinical and access information, considers both patients, proposes a consistent decision process, and communicates the outcome respectfully.
Review the recording for one observable weakness: perhaps you made a character judgment from missed appointments, did not compare urgency, or left the decision rule vague. Record the same response again with one deliberate adjustment and compare the two attempts. Continue through the structured-interview path to practise ethical reasoning, teamwork, using feedback, and explaining motivation. Because Brody has not published the interview length or rubric, use your invitation before simulating exact logistics.

Structured Interview Essentials
Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
