Brody limits consideration to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are either legal North Carolina residents or earned a bachelor's degree from a UNC System institution within the previous five years. A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. or Canadian institution is required and must be complete by June 30 of the matriculation year. Required coursework, also due by June 30, comprises eight hours of biology with two separate labs, four hours of organic chemistry with lab, eight hours of physics with two separate labs, three hours of biochemistry, three hours of statistics or biostatistics, six hours of English, and three hours of social sciences or humanities.
