Admission requirements

Applicants need a bachelor's degree before matriculation, minimum CASPA-calculated cumulative and science GPAs of 3.0, prerequisite courses completed with C or better, and at least 500 hours of direct patient care. Carroll excludes several roles from that patient-care total, including administrative work, medical scribing, PT technician work, ABA therapy, student training, and observation.

The 2026-27 cycle no longer requires the GRE. Applicants also submit three references and a $50 supplemental fee; the fee is waived for specified CASPA fee-waiver and McNair recipients. Carroll admissions

Practice and next step

Record a 90-second answer explaining why the PA profession fits your goals and how one direct patient-care experience shaped your maturity, service, or leadership. Review whether you explain your own responsibility and what changed in your judgment. Record the answer again with one clearer example, then compare the two attempts.
