Admission requirements

Applicants must complete a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited U.S. college or university before August matriculation. UCF accepts online and community-college coursework and online degrees from regionally accredited U.S. institutions. Requirements Admissions FAQ

Required study is two semesters each of biology with labs, general chemistry with labs, physics with labs, college English and college mathematics; one semester each of organic chemistry with lab and biochemistry with a lab if available. All prerequisites are due before August matriculation. Writing-intensive courses may replace English case by case. Genetics, cell biology, statistics, comparative anatomy and calculus are recommended rather than required. Requirements

The minimum cumulative undergraduate and science GPAs are both 3.0. The minimum MCAT is 500 using the highest composite from one test within the last three years. Applicants below both undergraduate GPA minimums may still be considered after at least 20 core-science postbaccalaureate or graduate credits with 3.0 or higher overall and science performance. Applicants submit three to five signed letters. At least one must be from a core-science faculty member who taught the applicant; a non-traditional applicant may use a recent supervisor instead. A committee letter or packet can fulfill the requirement. Physician letters are encouraged but not required. Requirements

Only U.S. citizens and permanent residents with final documentation are normally considered. At Admissions' discretion, an asylee or applicant awaiting a permanent-resident card may receive a secondary after confirming the final card will be in hand by November 1; the application cannot proceed if that condition is unmet. Important dates

Applicants can begin AMCAS in May and submit in June. UCF receives verified applications in late June and begins offering secondaries in July to applicants meeting the GPA, MCAT and citizenship screen. The AMCAS deadline for Fall 2027 is November 16, 2026, and the secondary deadline is December 1, 2026. The secondary fee is $30 or is waived with verified AAMC Fee Assistance. Early Decision is limited to Florida residents meeting the published 3.8 overall and science GPA and 513 MCAT thresholds with no section below 128. For accepted Fall 2027 applicants, Plan to Enroll is required by May 3, 2027 at 3 p.m. EDT and Commit to Enroll by June 15, 2027 at 3 p.m. EDT. UCF does not charge a seat deposit. How selection works

UCF first screens a verified AMCAS file for the minimum GPA, MCAT and citizenship requirements. Qualified applicants receive the $30 secondary. A file becomes complete when verified AMCAS, properly formatted AMCAS letters, the submitted secondary and the fee or waiver have arrived; incomplete applicants are not considered for interview. Multiple reviewers evaluate academic and testing evidence alongside clinical volunteering, shadowing or relevant paid work, community service, teamwork and leadership, research, essays, letters, life circumstances and time-management context.
