Admission requirements
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and complete at least 90 semester hours at a U.S.-accredited four-year degree-granting institution. Applicants with a foreign undergraduate degree or full-time foreign undergraduate enrollment need at least 20 hours of science coursework at a U.S. college or university. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Any professional or graduate degree program underway at application must be completed before matriculation. Requirements FAQ
Cincinnati has no specific course requirements. It expects rigorous preparation in the sciences and psychosocial dimensions of human health, including knowledge usually gained from biology, general and organic chemistry, physics and mathematics; social, cultural and behavioral sciences, statistics and computer literacy are recommended. Requirements
The MCAT is required and scores must be no more than three years old when applying. For the 2027 entering class, accepted administration years are 2023 through 2026. The current pages publish no numeric GPA or MCAT minimum. Overview
Regular MD applicants submit either one preprofessional committee packet or three individual letters; up to five total letters are accepted. If using individuals, Cincinnati suggests two writers who can evaluate science-course or medical-setting performance. All letters go through AMCAS. Overview
Important dates
The first day to submit AMCAS is May 28, 2026. Regular interviews run August 2026 through February 2027, the UCCOM secondary and complete application are due December 1, 2026, and the waitlist is formulated May 1, 2027. Timeline
The current timeline does not publish a separate regular-path AMCAS primary deadline, exact Fall 2027 orientation or matriculation date. Its orientation and class-start table is explicitly for the entering class of 2026 and is excluded here.
How selection works
The Committee on Admissions selects approximately 600 applicants to interview and makes final decisions after reviewing the interview report, recommendations and the complete application. Review covers academic background and trends, all MCAT scores, research and independent study, professionalism, maturity, integrity, leadership, empathy, interpersonal and communication skills, service, critical thinking, exposure to medicine and understanding of its demands. Overview
Applicants generally receive an accepted or alternate-list decision about six weeks after interview. Cincinnati does not publish numeric component weights, GPA or MCAT screening thresholds, interview scoring anchors or committee-vote rules. Overview
Interview details
Confirmed
The 2026–27 process is virtual. Invited applicants first attend an informational webinar, then complete a six-question asynchronous Kira Talent interview reviewed by trained professionals. Completing Kira is required to advance to two live Microsoft Teams interviews: one with faculty and one with a current student. Interview experience
Not published
The current page does not publish the response time or preparation time for each Kira question, the duration of the two live interviews, interviewer file access, question domains, scoring rubric or numerical interview weight. Invitation and status-page instructions control scheduling.
Who this program may suit
Cincinnati evaluates academic preparation together with professionalism, empathy, leadership, service, communication, critical thinking and informed exploration of medicine. Applicants should connect these competencies to specific experiences and growth. Overview
This guide covers the regular MD. Early Decision, MD/PhD and special-admissions pathways have separate criteria or dates and are excluded.
Practice and next step
Record a timed 90-second video response about a setback, service experience or teamwork decision. Review whether the example shows your action, communication and growth rather than labels. Choose one weak section, record a second attempt and compare structure, specificity and reflection.

Structured Interview Essentials
Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
