Creighton DDS Admissions Guide (2027)

Creighton's Omaha programme awards the DDS. For Fall 2027, applicants use ADEA AADSAS, complete Creighton's supplemental and meet school-specific coursework, DAT and 65-hour shadowing requirements. An invited applicant completes both a virtual admissions-committee interview and an in-person school presentation. Creighton does not publish interview duration, scoring or quantitative selection weights.

Admission requirements

Required courses are eight semester hours each of general biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry and physics, all with labs; three hours of biochemistry; and six hours of English. Prerequisites must be completed before matriculation at an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution. Community-college prerequisites must be accepted as equivalent by the applicant's four-year degree-granting institution. Transcripted AP or IB credit may count. Current requirements

Creighton requires at least 65 dental-shadowing hours and the DAT. For Fall 2027 it accepts tests from June 1, 2023 through November 15, 2026 and publishes minimum new-scale scores of 370 Academic Average, 360 Perceptual Ability and 380 Total Science. The Canadian DAT is accepted, and the most recent result is prioritized.

Submit either one committee recommendation or three individual letters: two science instructors and one instructor or mentor outside the sciences. International applicants requiring an I-20 need TOEFL 90 or IELTS 7 unless they completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution.

How selection works

Creighton conducts holistic review of the complete application. Published factors include DAT results, courses and predental-science grades, leadership, shadowing, service, character and potential to complete the programme and serve society. Application policy

Applicants selected by the committee complete two mandatory interview-stage activities. The school does not publish screening thresholds beyond its DAT minimums, numerical factor weights, committee vote mechanics, decision cadence before the optional spring period, or wait-list ordering.

Who this program may suit

Creighton's published review values academic preparation alongside leadership, dental shadowing and service, within a Jesuit programme that emphasizes compassion and social justice. A fit response should connect a specific patient-care observation to the applicant's own service, reflection or changed behaviour. Programme overview

This page covers the regular first-year Omaha DDS only, not Creighton medicine, the Phoenix medical campus, oral-biology graduate study, advanced routes or residencies.

Practice and next step

Record a virtual one-to-one response about a shadowing experience that changed your understanding of patient care or service. Ask a reviewer to identify whether your observation, action and reflection are concrete. Make one adjustment, record a second attempt and compare clarity, specificity and professional judgment.

Recommended preparation

Structured Interview Essentials

Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
