Admission requirements
Duke requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited U.S. university or college before matriculation, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and a minimum MCAT score of 500 for committee review (Duke application). Duke does not require a fixed prerequisite course list; its academic expectations include preparation in biochemistry, cellular or molecular biology/genetics, statistics or biostatistics, physics, sociology, psychology, and expository writing. The current FAQ says Canadian undergraduate applicants are considered in the same manner as U.S. citizens, while international, DACA, undocumented, and asylum-seeking applicants are considered under the published eligibility rules. How selection works
Duke reviews the verified AMCAS application, then sends selected applicants a DukeMed secondary invitation. Screeners evaluate completed files for a virtual interview invitation. The school describes holistic review across rigorous academics, biomedical and social-science preparation, patient care, community service, research, empathy, compassion, teamwork, leadership, and adaptability (academic expectations). The Committee on Admissions makes final decisions after interview review; the current public sources do not publish a detailed scoring formula.
