Admission requirements
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents holding a green card at application and earn a bachelor's degree before orientation in May 2027. Except in special circumstances involving disadvantage, FSU normally does not consider applicants below a 500 MCAT and 3.5 undergraduate GPA. It rarely considers non-Florida residents unless they demonstrate significant ties to Florida. FSU requirements
Required courses, completed with C or better when graded, include six hours of English or writing-intensive work, six hours of college mathematics, eight hours of biology with lab, four hours of organic chemistry with lab, eight hours of physics with lab, and three hours of biochemistry. The biochemistry course must require at least one organic chemistry course; a laboratory hour is preferred. Social and behavioural science, genetics, Spanish and cell or molecular biology are recommended. AP, CLEP and dual-enrolment credit may satisfy requirements; traditional four-year classroom work is considered more competitive. FSU requirements

How selection works
FSU's roughly 70-member Admissions Committee includes faculty, fourth-year students and community physicians.
