Admission requirements

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, except for students in approved KCU-CDM partner programmes. Required coursework with C or better is eight semester credits each of general biology with lab, general chemistry with lab and organic chemistry with lab; four credits of microbiology or biochemistry with lab; twelve additional credits in biology, chemistry and/or physics; six credits of English composition or technical writing; and four credits of human anatomy with lab. KCU requires the U.S. DAT within three years of entry. For Fall 2027, that rule implies a school-confirmed eligibility boundary is needed before relying on a specific oldest test date; the current page illustrates August 2026 entry with May 2023 or later but does not print the translated 2027 date.

Three letters are required: one pre-health advisor or committee letter, substitutable with a science faculty letter; one non-family dentist; and one person who can assess academic strengths and fit. Letters must be dated within two years of the matriculation year. Community service and clinical dental experience are required, but no minimum shadowing hours are published.

KCU gives preference to permanent residents of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas and KCU College of Biosciences graduates. It admits a select number of international students to the DMD, with separate recent-coursework, visa and financial-certification rules.
