Admission requirements

Kansas State requires 53 semester hours of prerequisites: general chemistry I and II with labs, organic chemistry with lab, biochemistry, physics I and II with labs, biology or zoology with lab, microbiology with lab, genetics, two writing courses and 12 hours of social sciences/humanities. Courses may be from accredited institutions, including online courses and labs, and must appear on an official transcript. Ordinary pass/fail coursework is not accepted; itemised AP/test credit is. Interview eligibility requires at least 2.8 in the prerequisite GPA, science-prerequisite GPA and last-45 GPA. A grade below C- does not satisfy a prerequisite; an unreplaced D or F in a required course on the application transcript disqualifies the file. A bachelor's degree is not required. How selection works

Kansas State publishes a primary evaluation worth 71%: 60% academic evaluation and 11% application evaluation. Academics include its science-prerequisite, prerequisite and last-45 GPAs. The application portion considers veterinary, employment, research, extracurricular, animal and volunteer/community experiences for breadth and depth. Primary results determine interview invitations. Kansas State may suit applicants seeking a regular four-year DVM in Manhattan with explicit academic and experience evaluation, a required communication-focused interview and no bachelor's or GRE requirement. Applicants enter the Kansas pool only if Kansas residents for tuition purposes at application. Five positions are reserved under a North Dakota contract, while at-large positions include qualified international students.
