Clinic appointment access and fairness
Practise making a fair decision when access is limited. Review whether you identify missing information, weigh both patients' needs, and explain the next step clearly; then record the scenario again with one improvement.

Admission requirements
Applicants normally need a bachelor's from an accredited college or university before enrollment. Exceptions may be made for students in special programmes who complete at least 90 accredited credits. Community-college work may count toward the 90-credit prerequisite and elective total. Entrance requirements
Required coursework is eight semester hours of biology with two laboratory hours; eight of general or inorganic chemistry with two laboratory hours; eight of organic chemistry with two laboratory hours; three of biochemistry; and six of English composition emphasizing technical language. LECOM recommends anatomy, physiology, microbiology, physics, cell biology, histology, immunology and molecular or genetic biology for its Problem-Based Learning curriculum.
The most recent DAT must be submitted through AADSAS and be within three years. LECOM describes science and overall GPAs around 3.2 and an Academic Average of 19 on the prior scale or 410 on the new scale as typical of successful or competitive applicants, not absolute minimums. At least 100 hours of clinical dental shadowing, mainly with a general dentist, are strongly recommended rather than published as an eligibility minimum.
Two core-science professor letters are required through AADSAS, or a pre-professional committee letter may substitute. Qualified applicants receive the LECOM supplemental and pay a $50 fee. The school accepts only U.S. citizens and permanent residents. How to apply
Important dates
The 2026-27 ADEA AADSAS service opened May 12, 2026 and accepted first submissions June 2. LECOM says its AADSAS window closes with the service at the beginning of February; ADEA identifies February 5, 2027 as the service close. Applicants are urged to submit early for interview consideration. ADEA AADSAS How to apply
Qualified applicants must submit LECOM's supplemental by March 31, 2027 and pay the $50 fee with submission. Interviews occur throughout the application cycle. LECOM makes no provisional or final offer before the first December date allowed under ADEA traffic rules.
For the entering Class of 2031, mandatory registration is July 16, 2027, mandatory orientation runs July 19-23 and the first class day is July 25. Academic calendar The school does not publish cycle-specific interview dates, a final decision date or current seat-deposit amount and response window on the admissions page.
How selection works
LECOM's Admissions Committee reviews the academic record and coursework and gives preference to evidence of scientific knowledge, critical thinking and effective communication. The school also seeks commitment to ethical, empathetic and patient-centred care for diverse populations, and gives additional consideration to anatomy, microbiology and physiology preparation for Problem-Based Learning. How to apply
After AADSAS, qualified candidates receive the required LECOM supplemental. The committee selects applicants for a formal interview focused broadly on career motivation, problem solving and communication. Decisions follow committee review and ADEA notification rules.
The current official pages do not publish numerical GPA, DAT, coursework, experience or interview weights; a file-screen rubric; residency preference; interview scoring; committee vote mechanics; or wait-list order. Published typical scores are contextual, not thresholds.
Interview details
Confirmed
Selected applicants are invited to LECOM for a formal school interview during the application cycle. LECOM says the interview helps the committee learn about career motivation, approach to problem solving and communication skills. Applicants are notified in writing by the Office of Student Affairs. How to apply
Not published
LECOM does not publish the Summer 2027 interview season or dates, exact campus building, number or duration of encounters, panel size, interviewer roles or file access, whether group or Problem-Based Learning exercises are used, scoring anchors, numerical interview weight or post-interview committee formula.
Who this program may suit
LECOM's full-time four-year DMD uses Problem-Based Learning and early clinical exposure. The first three years are based in Bradenton; students complete the fourth year at a community-based primary-care clinic in either DeFuniak Springs, Florida or Erie, Pennsylvania. Those later clinical placements are parts of one DMD programme, not separate admission records. Curriculum
A useful fit answer should show a specific example of self-directed, team-based learning and connect it to ethical patient-centred care. This page does not cover LECOM's osteopathic medicine campus pages, early-acceptance pathways, orthodontics or other graduate programmes.
Practice and next step
Record a response about a team problem where you had incomplete information and had to decide what to learn before acting. Ask a reviewer to identify whether you explain the uncertainty, how you gathered evidence and how your decision affected others. Make one adjustment, record a second attempt and compare structure, collaboration and patient-centred judgment.

Recommended preparation
Structured Interview Essentials
Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
