Important dates
The latest official dates belong to the prior Fall 2026 intake: applicants had to write an eligible DAT by December 1, 2025, submit the application and fee by January 15, 2026, and provide specified documents by February 1, 2026. Interview-selection notices were scheduled for the end of March, interviews for the end of April, and decisions for mid-to-late June 2026. Manitoba DMD prior-cycle dates

How selection works
In the prior Fall 2026 process, interview selection used academic and Canadian DAT evidence, with category-specific considerations. For the General category, the bulletin described final rank ordering with equal weighting across adjusted GPA, Canadian DAT and interview scores. The Canadian Indigenous and Individual categories used interview information with academic standing and DAT performance. Manitoba DMD prior-cycle selection
The same bulletin said at least 25 of 29 first-year positions were allocated to Manitobans and reported 306 applications, 90 interviewees and 29 seats for the incoming class of 2025. Those figures describe historical policy and outcomes; they do not predict Fall 2027 odds or capacity. Manitoba DMD prior-cycle selection

Practice and next step
First practice: record one answer to Allocating an urgent oral-health appointment. Clarify the pain and safety information you still need, separate urgency from arrival order, propose a fair process, and explain the decision respectfully. This rehearses the judgment and communication work relevant to the latest published General-category structured interview without assuming the Fall 2027 format.
Review the recording for one observable weakness—such as making an unsupported clinical assumption, ignoring a stakeholder, or stating a decision without explaining the trade-off. Make one adjustment, record the answer again, and compare the two attempts. Continue with Structured Interview Essentials to repeat that improvement loop across ethical reasoning, teamwork, feedback and motivation.
