Clinic appointment access and fairness
Practise making a fair decision when access is limited. Review whether you identify missing information, weigh both patients' needs, and explain the next step clearly; then record the scenario again with one improvement.

Admission requirements
Applicants must complete a bachelor's or Pharm.D. degree at an accredited U.S. or Canadian college or university before orientation. Mayo does not require specific prerequisite courses, although it recommends broad preparation across life, physical and social sciences and the humanities. Prerequisites
The MCAT minimum is 510. For Fall 2027, the test must have been taken from January 2024 through September 2026. AAMC PREview is recommended, but Mayo states that its score is not currently used in admissions decisions. Prerequisites
Eligible statuses include U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, noncitizen nationals, asylees, refugees and DACA recipients. Other foreign nationals may apply only if they can show eligibility for FAFSA or Canadian provincial or federal financial-aid support at application. Prerequisites
Applicants submit at least three individual letters or one premedical committee letter through AMCAS; up to ten letters are accepted, and a science-faculty letter is recommended. The secondary fee is $120 and waived for AMCAS Fee Assistance recipients. Admissions process
Important dates
For Fall 2027, AMCAS opens in early May and Mayo accepts primary applications June 1 through October 1, 2026. MCAT scores, transcripts, the secondary application, letters and secondary fee are due October 15. Admissions process
Interview invitations are extended August through November, with virtual interviews September through December. Mayo is not rolling: initial acceptances, alternate-list notices and rejections are communicated in February 2027; alternate-list offers may follow from April through June. Admissions process
Plan to Enroll is due April 30, 2027, Commit to Enroll is due May 31, final official transcripts June 15, and orientation begins July 12, 2027. Admissions process
How selection works
Primary applicants who meet Mayo's requirements receive the secondary. Applicants rank one to four campus-track options, and applications are routed using the first track choice while following a standardized mission-aligned review. Admissions process
Review considers undergraduate and graduate academic trajectory, MCAT, service, leadership, research, exposure to medicine, other experiences, written materials and recommendations. A file may advance to interview, be held for further consideration or leave active review. One campus interviews the applicant for every track selected. Admissions process
After the interview season closes, Mayo makes initial decisions in February rather than rolling offers. Numerical component weights, screening formulas, interview scoring anchors and committee voting rules are not published.
Interview details
Confirmed
All interviews are virtual. Interview invitations run August through November and interviews September through December. The day includes a welcome, two one-on-one interviews of 30 minutes each, a virtual campus tour, student connections and question-and-answer sessions. Every applicant also meets a Mayo alumni-community member. Admissions process
Applicants interviewing for several ranked tracks attend only one campus interview, based on their preferences; that interview serves all selected tracks. At decision time, an applicant may be considered for any selected track, regardless of the campus that conducted the interview. Admissions process
Not published
The official page does not publish interviewer roles for both one-on-one conversations, file access, prompt domains, scoring anchors, relative interview weight or an applicant-specific schedule beyond the invitation.
Who this program may suit
Mayo offers one MD admissions identity with four track choices: four years in Arizona, four years in Minnesota, preclerkship in Arizona followed by Florida clinical training, or preclerkship in Minnesota followed by Florida clinical training. Applicants rank tracks on one secondary and do not submit separate campus applications. Admissions process
Track choice is material because the first preference routes the application and shapes the campus interview. Applicants should connect that preference to specific learning, community and clinical goals while recognizing that an offer may be for any track they selected.
Practice and next step
Record a 90-second answer explaining your first Mayo campus-track choice and the experience that makes it a considered choice. Review whether you connect place, learning model and patient needs to evidence from your own actions. Replace one generic claim with a concrete example, record a second response and compare specificity, fit and reflection.

Recommended preparation
Structured Interview Essentials
Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
