Admission requirements

Applicants need a bachelor's degree or at least 90 earned postsecondary credits, excluding AP, IB, CLEP and similar credits. Required credits and prerequisites must be earned at an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution, although individual exceptions may be considered for accredited institutions elsewhere. Prerequisites are due June 1, 2027: advanced biology, 3-4 credits; biochemistry with general and organic chemistry prerequisites, 3-4; physics, 6-8; math, 3-4; English or a writing-intensive course, 3-4; and psychology or sociology, 3-4. AP may satisfy physics, math, English and social science. CLEP may satisfy math, English and social science. IB does not satisfy prerequisites. Pass/fail is accepted for coursework from January 2020 through Summer 2023. Final official transcripts and all prerequisites are due June 1.

The MCAT and Casper are mandatory. Eligible regular-MD MCAT dates are January 1, 2024-September 12, 2026. MCW considers a mix-and-match of the two most recent eligible exams to form the strongest overall score. Eligible Casper dates are March 19-December 3, 2026; the application is incomplete until MCW receives the current-cycle score. AAMC PREview is not required and is not accepted as a Casper substitute.

Applicants normally submit two undergraduate classroom-professor letters, at least one from biology, chemistry, physics or comparable science. A committee letter or packet is accepted. The undergraduate requirement is waived when the degree was conferred at least five years ago. Current or former graduate students also need one graduate professor or thesis-advisor letter unless they were only recently accepted or matriculated. Up to three optional professional letters are allowed.

For 2027 entry, MCW accepts U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents and DACA recipients. International applicants are not currently eligible. The current page says MCW anticipates a future Milwaukee international route, but it is not available this cycle.

Important dates

AMCAS opens May 5, 2026 and submission begins May 28. MCW begins secondary invitations or ineligibility notices July 6. The preferred regular-MD dates are July 1 for AMCAS and August 15 for the secondary. The final AMCAS deadline is November 2, 2026; the secondary closes December 7 at 11:59 p.m. Central. Admissions

Eligible MCAT dates run through September 12, 2026 and Casper dates through December 3. Interviews run September 2026-March 2027. First interview decisions are released October 15, and the latest interview decision is June 2027.

All prerequisites and final official transcripts are due June 1, 2027. Orientation begins June 28 and classes begin July 6 at all three campuses. A $110 nonrefundable deposit is due April 30 for applicants admitted by that point. Early Decision, MSTP and MD/MS dates are separate and should not replace the regular-MD timeline.

How selection works

MCW reviews applications on a rolling basis and considers completion date alongside holistic review. Published factors are academic achievement, MCAT and Casper scores, personal statement and essays, letters, experiences, noncognitive personal and professional characteristics and the personal interview. Admissions

Applicants use one secondary and one fee regardless of campus preferences. Interview invitations identify the campus, first-choice placement is not assured, and multiple-campus interviews are highly unlikely. Green Bay and Central Wisconsin have small classes composed primarily of Wisconsin residents, with limited space for nonresidents. Their secondary questions focus on primary care, community-based education and the community in which an applicant envisions practising.

The official page does not publish minimum GPA or MCAT thresholds, numerical factor weights, a campus-ranking formula, Casper weight, interview score, committee vote mechanics or wait-list ordering.

Who this program may suit

MCW's three campuses share one application but offer different training environments. Milwaukee offers the larger four-year campus, while Green Bay and Central Wisconsin offer smaller, three-year, primary-care and community-focused programs. Applicants should connect their campus ranking to the setting, curriculum and community they can substantively serve rather than treating a campus as a backup choice. Campuses

Strong answers should connect an actual experience to that choice. Campus preferences, invitations and offers remain part of one MCW regular-MD admissions identity.
