How selection works
MUSC uses holistic review plus a published pre-interview point system. Points are awarded for factors including first-generation status, public assistance, underserved-area background, veteran status, an earned master's degree, non-primary English, more than 1,000 patient-care hours, GPA bands, and South Carolina connections. These points rank applicants for interview invitations. Official admissions preferences
Interview details
Confirmed
Selected applicants interview in person, typically from September through November. The school says no alternate interview dates are offered and aims to communicate acceptance, waitlist, or denial decisions around November. Official application process
Not published
MUSC does not publish the interview exercises, number or duration of interviews, interviewer roles, questions, file access, scoring rubric, or quantitative post-interview weighting.
Who this program may suit
This program may suit applicants seeking residential training inside an academic health-sciences system and who value simulation, interprofessional education, and broad clinical rotations. South Carolina connections and several mission-related experiences receive explicit pre-interview consideration. Official program page
Practice and next step
Record a response explaining why the PA profession fits your goals in team-based care. Use one patient or service example, connect it to the PA role, and explain why MUSC's interprofessional environment supports your next stage. Review specificity, adjust one weakness, record a second attempt, and compare the two responses.
