Admission requirements

Applicants need a bachelor's degree before the January start date, a minimum 3.0 CASPA-calculated cumulative undergraduate GPA, a minimum 3.0 prerequisite GPA, grades of C or higher in required courses, and at least 500 hours of hands-on health care experience completed before CASPA submission. Required areas include anatomy, physiology, chemistry, microbiology with lab, developmental psychology, statistics or biostatistics, and medical terminology; science prerequisites normally must be within seven years. UM-Flint first checks minimum requirements, then applies holistic review to academic performance, critical thinking, professionalism, communication, integrity, resilience, teamwork, advocacy, service, leadership, clinical experience, and dedication to PA practice. Competitive applicants advance to interview day; interviewed applicants may receive an offer, denial, or alternate-list position.
