Admission requirements

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and complete at least 90 semester hours at a U.S. college or university. Required courses, with C- or higher, are six credits of English or writing, three college-level mathematics credits, six biological-science credits, twelve chemistry credits through organic chemistry and six general-physics credits. For Fall 2027, MCAT scores must be from January 2023 through September 2026 and total at least 500. Applicants generally need both cumulative and science GPAs of at least 3.0; significant postbaccalaureate or graduate science work may receive individual consideration when undergraduate performance is below that level. Non-Missouri applicants must meet an additional MCAT/GPA grid: 500–501 with at least 3.60; 502–505 with 3.40; 506–509 with 3.20; or 510–528 with 3.00. Those who pass receive a free out-of-state form evaluating Missouri ties before a secondary decision. Around 85% of accepted students are Missouri residents. Requirements

Applicants submit three letters through AMCAS and may submit up to six. Traditional applicants need one letter from a professor who taught and graded them, preferably science faculty; a committee letter may replace the three. How selection works

In-state applicants who meet the minimums receive a secondary. Eligible nonresidents first complete the Missouri-ties form, which determines whether a secondary is offered. Faculty on the Admissions Screening Committee then select candidates for interview. Application process Requirements

Holistic screening considers academics, Missouri affiliation, personal statement, altruism and leadership, health-care experiences, research and evidence that the applicant understands social factors affecting health. After interviews, the Admissions Committee uses letters, community and educational activity and interview evidence to decide admission, alternate list or denial. Requirements

Who this program may suit

Mizzou is one School of Medicine with Columbia and Springfield campuses. Beginning in the 2027–28 academic year, Springfield becomes a four-year regional campus. Applicants select a campus preference during the shared application process, and the Admissions Office manages assignment; the curricula and academic standards are the same. Campus locations

Mizzou is state-supported and gives preference to Missouri residents and Missouri high-school graduates. Applicants should assess whether its patient-based learning, state mission and Columbia or Springfield setting match their experience and goals. Keep this identity separate from UMKC School of Medicine and from Mizzou pre-admission pathways.
