Admission requirements
Applicants need at least 90 semester units from an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution, with at least 30 units at a four-year institution. The FAQ limits community-college credit to 60 units and requires grades of C or higher. A bachelor's degree is recommended but not required. Prerequisites are one year each of biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry and physics with labs; one semester of anatomy or one year of anatomy and physiology with lab; one semester of biochemistry; and one year of English. UNLV requires the U.S. DAT, does not accept the Canadian DAT and accepts scores for three years. The Fall 2027 timeline tells applicants to test by July 2026. The FAQ describes 3.5 cumulative/science GPA and 20 DAT section scores as competitive, not minimums.
A committee letter satisfies the evaluation requirement. Otherwise submit four letters: two hard-science professors, one dentist and one other professor, employer or supervisor. Applicants who have not studied four years at an English-speaking institution need TOEFL iBT 95.
Important dates
ADEA's 2026-27 AADSAS application opened May 12, 2026 and first accepted submissions June 2. UNLV's supplemental is available in May/June through Grad Rebel Gateway. Fall 2027 timeline
Take the DAT no later than July 2026. Interviews run September 2026-February 2027, with initial acceptances in December. The current application-requirements page lists January 1, 2027 as UNLV's AADSAS deadline; the timeline labels January without a day. Remaining supporting documentation is due in February 2027, and classes begin September 2027. The exact supporting-document date is not published.
How selection works
UNLV reviews the AADSAS and required $75 supplemental before extending interview invitations to eligible candidates. Only complete files enter committee review, and the Admissions Committee makes the final selection. Requirements
The school publishes descriptive competitive GPA and DAT levels but no automatic academic cutoff, holistic factor list, numerical weighting, residency preference in admission, committee mechanics or wait-list ordering. Acceptances begin in December and continue on a rolling basis until the class is filled.

Do not import the separate medical school's virtual-interview format.
Who this program may suit
UNLV's four-year DMD serves Nevada's oral-health education and patient-care mission from the Shadow Lane Campus, with an integrated biomedical, behavioural and clinical curriculum. A fit response should connect dental exposure to a concrete population need and show the applicant's action, reflection and readiness for collaborative clinical training. DMD programme
