Admission requirements

Applicants need a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university before matriculation. UND expects preparation in natural sciences, behavioral sciences, humanities and writing-intensive work, and evaluates written expression, research or creative activity, experience with diverse populations and medical or clinical experience. The most recent MCAT must be at least 495. UND expects both cumulative and BCPM GPAs of at least 3.0. Current accepted-student averages on the page are descriptive history, not thresholds. Requirements

Three letters are required through AMCAS: three individual letters; a committee letter, counted as two, plus one separate individual letter; or a letter packet that supplies all three. All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Strongest preference goes to North Dakota residents who graduated from a North Dakota high school, followed by defined former-resident and state-tie groups. Minnesota applicants currently need North Dakota or Red River Valley ties to be considered for interview. Montana and Wyoming WICHE applicants must also have North Dakota ties. The INMED medical-school page currently shows deadlines for a later cycle. Fall 2027 applicants should use the 2026–27 MD deadlines above and obtain cycle-specific INMED supplemental instructions directly from the program rather than importing later dates. INMED

How selection works

UND first determines whether the applicant meets its residency or mission eligibility. The 18-member admissions committee then reviews completed eligible applications holistically, considering academic preparation, communication, ethics, teamwork, experience with diverse populations, clinical experience, research or creative activity and readiness to serve rural and Native American communities. INMED is not a separate MD page. Eligible applicants follow the same medical-school process and deadlines plus an INMED application, tribal representative recommendation, autobiographical sketch and documentation of enrollment in a federally recognized tribe. INMED
