UNF DPT Admissions (Fall 2027)

For Fall 2027, the University of North Florida Doctor of Physical Therapy program requires PTCAS and a UNF supplemental application by November 16, 2026. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree, minimum 3.0 GPA thresholds, prerequisite science and psychology coursework, two recommendations, and may be invited to an interview. The official page confirms a single-deadline holistic review and does not publish an interview format or scoring rubric. Use the linked original Videoath practice to rehearse clear spoken reasoning, review one weakness, and compare a second attempt.

Clinic appointment access and fairness

Original Videoath MMI-style spoken practice for the McMaster admissions-page canary. This is not a recalled or confidential McMaster question. Review the response for a clear opening position, affected people and interests, missing information, fair trade-offs, respectful communication, and a concise conclusion. Use a two-attempt loop: review one observable weakness, then record the same prompt again with that adjustment.

Quick facts

  • School: University of North Florida Brooks College of Health, Jacksonville, Florida (DPT program).
  • Program: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).
  • Cycle: Fall 2027 entry; the official page labels the application deadlines for this cycle.
  • Application: PTCAS plus the UNF Graduate School supplemental application.
  • Review: All completed applications received by the deadline receive equal consideration in a holistic review; the program says it is not rolling for Fall 2027.
  • Verification: Official UNF sources checked 2026-08-08.

Admission requirements

UNF requires a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants need a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA across the last 60 degree-earning credits, a 3.0 science-prerequisite GPA, and a 3.0 non-science-prerequisite GPA (admission requirements).

Required science preparation totals 32 credits: general chemistry I and II with labs, physics I and II with labs, anatomy and physiology I and II with labs (or separate anatomy and physiology equivalents), and general biology I and II with labs. Non-science preparation includes introductory psychology, lifespan or abnormal psychology, and statistics; medical terminology is encouraged. Second-level prerequisites must normally be completed within seven years of the November 16, 2026 deadline. UNF allows no more than three pending prerequisites, with no more than two pending science courses, and permits online coursework from accredited institutions under its stated rules.

Applicants submit PTCAS, the UNF supplemental application, official transcripts, and two PTCAS recommendations: one from a major-course instructor and one from a licensed physical therapist. The program also requires applicants to meet its published essential functions. An interview may be required for competitive candidates, but UNF says interviews do not currently affect admission chances.

Important dates

  • June 15, 2026: PTCAS application opens.
  • August 1, 2026: UNF supplemental application opens after the PTCAS application is submitted.
  • November 16, 2026: PTCAS application and UNF supplemental application deadline; all required materials must be received by this firm deadline.
  • Late January to mid-February: the official process describes decision letters in this annual window, but the Fall 2027 page does not publish a precise decision date.

UNF says Fall 2027 applications will be reviewed together rather than on a rolling basis. Dates are subject to change; recheck the current DPT page and PTCAS before applying (important dates).

How selection works

UNF uses PTCAS as the main application and requires a linked UNF supplemental application. For Fall 2027, completed applications received by the deadline receive equal consideration in a holistic review rather than first-come, first-served review (Fall 2027 update). The program reviews academic preparation, prerequisites, recommendations, and the other required application materials. An interview may be required for competitive candidates, but the current official page says interviews do not affect admission chances at this time.

Interview details

Confirmed

UNF states that an interview may be required for competitive candidates and that selected candidates are assigned by the admissions chair (admission requirements).

Not published

The current UNF sources do not publish interview modality, duration, station count, scoring rubric, interviewer assignment beyond the admissions-chair assignment, or a question list. Do not infer an MMI, panel, or school-specific interview format.

Who this program may suit

UNF’s DPT program may suit applicants who want a full-time, cohort-based doctoral program with clinical preparation, community engagement, critical thinking, and reflective practice. The program emphasizes compassion, justice, integrity, connection, and lifelong learning in its published guiding principles (department mission). These are preparation themes, not a prediction of admission.

Practice and next step

Original Videoath practice: Use the linked general fairness prompt to practise a concise spoken answer about balancing competing needs in a clinical setting. Record a timed response, review whether you identify the people affected and explain your next action, choose one weakness, adjust the answer, record it again, and compare the two attempts. Use the second attempt to practise the clarity and reflection you may need if UNF invites you to interview. This is general Videoath practice, not a UNF question.
