Admission requirements

Applicants must be U.S. residents or citizens and earn a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution before matriculation. RUCOM does not accept international students, applicants with an international bachelor's degree, DACA recipients or applicants with undocumented status. It also does not accept transfers or applicants who previously enrolled in another medical school. MD program

Required courses, each with a passing grade, are one semester each of biochemistry, social sciences and statistics; two semesters each of biology, humanities and inorganic chemistry. Anatomy, behavioral science, bioethics, English, genetics, mathematics, organic chemistry, physics, physiology and population health are preferred but not required. MD program

The MCAT is required and must be within four years. The current page publishes no minimum GPA or MCAT score. Applicants submit three to six letters; committee letters are accepted, and Roseman encourages writers who can address academic achievement and character. MD program

Selected applicants receive the secondary, which includes essays, timed Kira video and written responses, and a $100 fee. The fee is waived for approved AAMC Fee Assistance recipients. MD program

Important dates

The AMCAS primary deadline is March 1, 2027 and the AMCAS transcript deadline is March 16. An invited secondary is due within 14 days of the invitation or by March 16, 2027, whichever comes first; extensions may be considered individually. MD program

Virtual interviews run from late August 2026 through April 2027. Rolling final notifications start October 15, 2026. The Fall 2027 class starts July 19, 2027. MD program

The current page does not publish a letter deadline separate from the application stages, the latest acceptable MCAT test date, interview-day dates, Plan to Enroll or Commit to Enroll dates, orientation date or wait-list closure. The wait list is unranked and may move until shortly before the term starts.

How selection works

Roseman uses holistic review to identify applicants aligned with its mission, vision and values. The current criteria emphasize academic ability, empathy, service, advocacy and commitment to improving health inequities. Meeting minimum requirements does not ensure advancement. MD program

The school screens AMCAS files before sending a secondary. Secondary review includes essays and a Kira assessment with timed video and written responses evaluating communication, professionalism, problem-solving and critical thinking. A further selected group receives a live virtual interview with faculty and college leadership, after which the Admissions Committee makes final decisions. MD program

Numerical stage weights, GPA or MCAT floors, Kira scoring anchors, live-interview weight and committee voting rules are not published. All Admissions Committee decisions are final and not appealable.

Interview details

Confirmed

The invited secondary includes a Kira video assessment with timed video and written responses. It evaluates communication, professionalism, problem-solving, critical thinking and how an applicant may contribute to the learning community. This is an application-stage assessment, not the later faculty interview. MD program

Applicants selected after that stage receive a live virtual interview with RUCOM faculty and college leadership. The school says the conversation evaluates experiences, motivation, communication, professionalism and alignment with its values. Interviews run from late August 2026 through April 2027. MD program

Not published

The current page does not publish the number or duration of Kira prompts, preparation time, reuse policy, live-interview count or duration, interviewer file access, question bank, scoring rubric or stage weights.

Who this program may suit

Roseman's four-year MD is on campus in Summerlin and uses GENESIS, a household-centred care model that connects early patient care, interprofessional work, community service and value-based measures. MD program

Applicants should test fit with the school as it exists now: a new program with LCME Preliminary Accreditation, a small current class target and a mission tied to Nevada's physician needs and health inequities. Preliminary Accreditation is a material program fact, not a full-accreditation claim.

Practice and next step

Record a 90-second response about an inequity you observed and the action you took without assuming you fully understood another person's needs. Review whether your example shows listening, practical judgment and measurable follow-through. Adjust one weak point, record a second response and compare specificity and humility.

Frequently asked questions

Is Roseman's MD program fully accredited?

Do not describe it that way. LCME awarded Preliminary Accreditation in February 2025, authorizing recruitment, admission and launch. MD program

What interview stages are confirmed?

Selected secondary applicants complete a timed Kira video and written assessment. A later selected group receives a live virtual interview with faculty and leadership. MD program

Can international or DACA applicants apply?

No. The current page excludes international, DACA and undocumented applicants, and applicants whose bachelor's degree is international. MD program

Recommended preparation

Structured Interview Essentials

Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
