How selection works

USask ranks applicants on academic performance and personal qualities. The published selection table gives the academic record a 75% weight and the personal video interview a 25% weight. Applicants must also meet the minimum standard on the Test of Critical Skills, identified as Casper for the 2027 cycle. Official admissions page

The page treats Casper as a third required component but does not publish a separate numerical weight or explain how its result modifies the 75/25 calculation. Candidates must meet the minimum standard in each component and rank competitively overall. Exact Casper thresholds, interview rubric, admission-score formula and committee rules are not public. Interview details

Confirmed

There is no face-to-face interview. Applicants complete a personal video interview between late January and March 31, 2027 using an internet-connected device with a webcam and microphone. The College advises applicants to be ready to discuss why they chose pharmacy, their exposure to the profession, their understanding of the pharmacist's role and transferable life or work experience. Official admissions page

Casper is also required for the 2027 cycle as an online situational-judgment test assessing communication, collaboration, equity, professionalism, problem solving, empathy, motivation and ethics. Official admissions page

Not published

USask does not publish the video platform, question count, preparation or response time, retake policy, evaluator roles, scoring dimensions, anchors, interview cutoff or exact Casper weighting. The application and College test-date instructions control live logistics.

Who this program may suit

USask may suit applicants seeking a four-year PharmD in Saskatoon with 40 weeks of experiential education and patient-focused simulation. Applicants should be comfortable with both Casper and a recorded personal interview. Official admissions page

Residency materially affects the opportunity: only up to nine of the 90 seats may be filled by non-Saskatchewan residents, including international applicants. Saskatchewan applicants and verified Indigenous Saskatchewan residents should review the published residency and designated-seat rules before applying. Official admissions page

Practice and next step

Practise the linked pharmacy error-communication scenario in two formats. First, give a concise Casper response that identifies the safety risk, stakeholders, missing facts and fair action. Then record a personal-interview response connecting one work or life experience to pharmacy practice. Review specificity, accountability and empathy, record both again, and compare the second attempts with the originals.
