Admission requirements

Applicants must complete at least 90 semester hours at accredited U.S. or Canadian institutions. Every required course must be graded C or better; pass/fail or credit/no-credit does not satisfy prerequisites. AP credit is accepted when the official transcript specifies the course and units. Required coursework is 12 lecture hours plus two lab hours of biology; three hours of biochemistry, which may count toward biology or chemistry; six lecture plus two lab hours of general chemistry; six lecture plus two lab hours of organic chemistry; six lecture plus two lab hours of physics; six hours of English; and three hours of statistics. The MCAT is required and a complete application plus MCAT score is needed for interview consideration. The school publishes no minimum GPA, minimum MCAT or score-age window on the current requirements pages. How selection works

Long uses a holistic process that balances experiences, attributes and metrics. Published areas include academic achievement, healthcare exposure, service, leadership, research and work; adversity and socioeconomic context; language and cultural experience; integrity, maturity, motivation, judgment, resilience, resourcefulness, empathy, communication and collaboration. After interview, the Admissions Committee considers academic and non-academic scoring together with interviewer comments. Every interviewed applicant remains in the school's consideration pool until receiving an offer or final disposition. The current Entry Year 2027 process is on Zoom from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Central on Fridays between July 31 and December 18, 2026. Each applicant completes one traditional interview with a faculty Admissions Committee member and one interview with a medical student, plus student interaction and school programming. The school expects about 1,000 interviewees in a cycle. Interview
