Admission requirements

Applicants need a bachelor's degree and must complete prerequisite work at an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution. The published 47-hour prerequisite set includes six hours of general biology or zoology plus two lab hours; six hours of upper-division biology; six hours of general chemistry plus two lab hours; six hours of organic chemistry plus two lab hours; six hours of physics plus two lab hours; six hours of English; and three hours of statistics taught by a mathematics department. A 3000- or 4000-level biochemistry course is required and may satisfy three hours of the biology or chemistry total. Admissions

The MCAT is required. The school says it considers an applicant's highest-performing score from the previous five years, but publishes no minimum GPA or MCAT score. Casper and Duet are also required for admission eligibility: an applicant may interview before completing them but cannot receive an offer until both are complete. Important dates

TMDSAS makes the Entry Year 2027 application available May 1, 2026, opens submission May 15 and closes the primary at 11:59 p.m. Central on October 1. Letters are suggested by October 15. TTUHSC's current interview booklet lists November 1 as its secondary deadline, but the same booklet still shows the prior cycle's January 30 rank deadline and February 13 match. The current TMDSAS dates above control Entry Year 2027; applicants should confirm the secondary deadline in their TTUHSC portal. The school has not published exact 2026 interview dates, the current Casper and Duet deadline, or Fall 2027 orientation and class-start dates.

How selection works

TTUHSC reviews cognitive and non-cognitive evidence through a holistic process. Published factors include compassion, communication, collaboration, collegiality, resilience, passion, perseverance, ethics and integrity, together with academics. The school may give some consideration to West Texas ties and states a preference for applicants whose goals include primary or rural care. Admissions
