Touro Dental DDS Admissions Guide (2027)

Touro College of Dental Medicine awards the DDS, not the DMD. All regular entrants complete years one and two at the New York campus and indicate Valhalla, Albuquerque or no preference for years three and four. The school uses AADSAS through February 1, requires a bachelor's degree, prerequisites, current DAT, 2.7 overall and science GPAs and specified letters, then conducts a 30-minute one-to-one open-file interview virtually or in person.

Quick facts

  • Degree: four-year Doctor of Dental Surgery. Regular DDS admissions
  • Identity: first two years in New York; Valhalla or Albuquerque preference applies to clinical years three and four.
  • Deadline: February 1, 2027 through AADSAS.
  • Academic floor: bachelor's degree before matriculation and 2.7 minimum overall and science GPAs.
  • DAT: required within three years before the entry year; the most recent result is used.

Admission requirements

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required before matriculation. Required courses are two semesters each of general biology with labs, general chemistry with labs, physics with labs and English; one semester of organic chemistry with lab; and one semester of biochemistry, with or without lab. Current 2025-27 catalogue Courses must be taken at or accepted for transfer by an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution toward a bachelor's degree.

Applicants need minimum 2.7 overall and science GPAs. The DAT must be taken by the catalogue's January 31 supplemental deadline and within the three years before the year of entry; the most recent score is used. Submit one pre-dental committee letter or three undergraduate-faculty letters. With three letters, two must be science faculty, the third may be non-science or dental volunteer supervision, and one must be from an instructor in the applicant's major. Graduate students also need a graduate committee or individual graduate letter.

International applicants may apply. Touro publishes a financial escrow condition for entrants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents by July 1. Applicants who previously matriculated at any dental school and then withdrew or were dismissed are ineligible for this regular route.

Important dates

ADEA's current cycle opened May 12, 2026 and first accepted AADSAS submissions June 2. Touro's live page and catalogue use a generic June 1 opening, so use ADEA's dated service schedule. ADEA dates

Touro requires DAT completion before January 31, 2027 and sets February 1 as its AADSAS deadline. Interviews run September 2026 through March 2027. Decisions are rolling, generally arrive about six to eight weeks after interview and cannot be released before December 15. Touro admissions The exact 2027 matriculation date is not published on the admissions page reviewed.

How selection works

Touro describes an individual, flexible holistic review and explicitly says admission criteria are not weighted. Published considerations include academic and DAT readiness, conceptual and quantitative skills, altruism, compassion, honesty, integrity, observation, communication, motor capacity and emotional maturity. Selection description

Selected applicants receive a virtual or in-person interview. Rolling decisions follow, generally six to eight weeks later and no earlier than December 15. The school does not publish screening formulas, committee vote mechanics, interviewer score conversion, campus-preference effect on selection or wait-list ordering.

Interview details

Published domains include empathy, critical thinking, moral reasoning and ethics, open-mindedness, collaboration, communication, flexibility, leadership, team experience, intellectual and learning skills, motivation and preparation for dentistry. Interview description

Not published

Touro does not publish how modality is assigned, exact physical location for in-person interviews, interviewer role, specific prompts, numerical rubric, interview weight, accommodation process or whether clinical-site preference affects the conversation.

Who this program may suit

Touro may suit applicants prepared for a four-year DDS that shares one admissions process but offers two clinical-year locations. Every regular entrant completes the first two preclinical years in New York; an accepted Albuquerque-cohort student moves there for years three and four. Campus contract

This is one canonical Touro College of Dental Medicine DDS page. Albuquerque is a clinical cohort, not a separate four-year school application. Exclude TouroCOM DO, the separate two-year International Dentist Programme, DDS/MPH and postgraduate routes.

Practice and next step

Record a one-to-one response about an ethical or teamwork challenge in a patient-facing setting. Ask a reviewer to identify whether your reasoning, communication and adjustment are visible without overclaiming responsibility. Make one adjustment, record a second attempt and compare clarity and professional judgment.

Recommended preparation

Structured Interview Essentials

Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
