Admission requirements

Applicants need a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or a foreign equivalent. Applicants still completing the degree may be considered after completing at least 75% of undergraduate credits. Foreign undergraduate work requires review by an AACOMAS-approved evaluation service. Admission requirements

Prerequisites require a grade of C or better: eight semester hours each of biology, inorganic or general chemistry and physics; seven hours of organic chemistry, with three biochemistry hours allowed toward that total; three hours of mathematics and/or computer science; and three hours of behavioral science. Six hours of English are required only when the bachelor's degree was not completed in English. The page publishes specific AP and IB substitutions and accepts online coursework delivered directly by regionally accredited institutions. Incomplete prerequisites must be finished before matriculation, and provisionally admitted applicants are expected to earn B or better in them. Admission requirements

The MCAT must be no more than three years old at enrollment. For Fall 2027, a January 2024 score is valid and a December 2023 score is not. The current requirements page does not publish a minimum GPA, minimum MCAT or competitive benchmark. Admission requirements

Applicants submit either a pre-professional committee evaluation or two natural-science faculty recommendations, with limited substitutions described on the requirements page. They also submit one recommendation from a DO or MD who observed them in a clinical or patient setting; specified clinical or professional supervisors may substitute. Virtual shadowing and letters from relatives are not accepted. Selected applicants complete a $200 secondary and submit current-cycle Casper results. Admission requirements

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents when they apply. TouroCOM does not consider DACA or international applicants. DO admissions

Important dates

The 2026–27 AACOMAS cycle opened in early May, and the deadline to submit the AACOMAS application is March 1, 2027. Admissions are rolling. TouroCOM does not publish a separate Fall 2027 secondary deadline on the current pages. DO admissions

For Fall 2027, Casper must be taken between March 19, 2026 and February 9, 2027, excluding the May 29, 2026 test date. Earlier-cycle results are invalid. Admission requirements

Campus visits and interviews occur on a rolling basis from September through May, and decisions are usually communicated within two months of the formal interview. The current pages do not publish Middletown-specific interview dates, the exact Fall 2027 orientation or start date, or current-cycle deposit deadlines. DO admissions

How selection works

Applicants choose Middletown, Harlem, Great Falls or no preference in AACOMAS. TouroCOM may assign applicants who select no preference, and an applicant can interview at only one campus. The Admissions Office invites selected qualified applicants to submit a secondary; receipt of a secondary does not guarantee an interview. DO admissions

TouroCOM describes holistic review of academic performance, research, clinical, extracurricular and community-service experience, and commitment to osteopathic medicine. The current requirements page says Casper-informed personal attributes are weighed in equal measure with academic metrics and foundational experiences, but it does not publish numerical weights or a score-combination formula. Admission requirements

Interview feedback is considered alongside academic credentials and experiences. The Admissions Committee sends final recommendations to the dean, who retains authority to approve applications. The current pages do not publish initial-screen thresholds, campus-specific selection rules, interviewer scoring, committee-vote mechanics or waitlist ranking. DO admissions

Interview details

Confirmed

Selected applicants participate in an informational presentation and a formal interview. Candidates meet with several faculty members, who have full access to the application record. Interview feedback is considered with academic credentials and experiences. Interviews run on a rolling basis from September through May, candidates may interview at only one TouroCOM campus, and decisions are usually communicated within two months. DO admissions

Not published

The current page states that interviews in the 2025–26 admissions cycle were remote; that prior-cycle statement does not establish the modality for the 2026–27 cycle. TouroCOM does not currently publish whether Fall 2027 interviews are virtual or in person, the number of interview stations or conversations, one-to-one or panel structure, duration, question categories, preparation time, scoring rubric, interview weight, assessor calibration or Middletown-specific committee mechanics.

Who this program may suit

TouroCOM Middletown is in New York's Hudson Valley and opened in 2014 in the renovated former Horton Hospital. Its facilities include on-campus housing, OSCE and simulation laboratories, a holographic and plastination laboratory, and a medical library open around the clock. Location and contact

The campus emphasizes hands-on learning, early clinical exposure and relationships with Hudson Valley clinicians and community organizations. Its on-site osteopathic manipulative medicine clinic serves patients from New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Middletown campus life

Applicants should be ready to connect a specific clinical or service experience to osteopathic whole-person care and the health needs of the Hudson Valley. Middletown warrants a campus-specific page because applicants can select it in AACOMAS and can interview at only one TouroCOM campus; shared TouroCOM requirements are retained as shared rules.

Practice and next step

Record one response to the featured prompt. Use a specific clinical, service or teamwork example to explain what you noticed, how you responded and what you learned about treating a person in context. Connect that lesson to osteopathic medicine and to a concrete Middletown opportunity such as Hudson Valley community service, simulation or the on-site OMM clinic.

Review whether your answer gives evidence for both your actions and your campus choice. Record it again after making one improvement, then compare the two attempts for specificity, structure and reflection. Practise a clear conversational answer because TouroCOM confirms a formal faculty interview with full file access but does not publish the detailed format.

Recommended preparation

Structured Interview Essentials

Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
