The GRE is due by September 1; applicants holding both a U.S.-accredited bachelor's and a master's or higher degree receive the published waiver. Direct patient-care experience and PA shadowing strengthen a file but no hours minimum is published. Official requirements

How selection works
UT Southwestern uses holistic review. Published considerations include the amount and quality of science coursework, hands-on patient care, service, leadership, interpersonal skills, recommendations, the application essay, and the applicant's experiences and context. Selected applicants attend the on-campus assessment, and decisions follow in January and February. The program does not publish numeric application or interview weights. Official admissions guide
Interview details
Confirmed
The interview is conducted on campus in Dallas. The published day includes a meet-and-greet, a ten-station MMI, a campus tour, and a financial-aid presentation. Six two-day interview sessions are listed from August 2026 through January 2027. Official admissions guide
Not published
UT Southwestern has not published the length or preparation time for each MMI station, prompts, rater composition, interviewer file access, scoring rubric, or the quantitative weight of the interview in the final decision.
Who this program may suit
This program may suit applicants who want a longer, full-time curriculum in a large academic medical center and are ready for a substantial in-person MMI day. Because the program evaluates science rigor, patient care, service, leadership, and communication holistically, applicants should prepare both a coherent application narrative and concise station responses rather than relying on one metric. Practice and next step
Record one timed response to the featured fair-access scenario. Review whether you identified missing information, considered the people affected, made a defensible decision, and communicated the next step. Make one adjustment and answer it again. Then use Structured Interview Essentials to compare second attempts across ethics, teamwork, feedback, and motivation before practising a longer sequence of stations.

Structured Interview Essentials
Build a repeatable spoken-answer loop across five common structured-interview skills: fair decisions, ethical reasoning, using feedback, teamwork under pressure, and explaining your motivation. Record each response once, choose the weakest one, review one observable weakness, and answer it again with one deliberate adjustment.
