Admission requirements
Apply through OUAC. Waterloo requires a minimum 75% cumulative university average, prerequisite and full-course-load evidence, the OAT, Casper, at least eight hours in an optometrist's office, two confidential references, and the programme's supplementary forms. For September 2027 entry, the OAT must be written by September 30, 2026; the OUAC application closes November 12; programme forms and the interim transcript are due November 26; and reference forms are due December 7. How selection works
Stage 1 reviews academic and non-academic evidence. Selected applicants move to Stage 2 interview review, where Waterloo considers knowledge of optometry, motivation, logical thinking, poise, confidence, warmth, and verbal expression alongside service, work, experience, and personal qualities.
